Restarting again and again and...
When you start something new, it’s perfectly normal to find yourself needing to start, quit for sometime, and start again multiple times before achieving consistency.
This whole repetitive rodeo can last weeks, years…decades even.
Even when your appetite for growing and trying new things is high, throwing new stuff into a very well-defined routine can be quite challenging.
It’s doubly hard if a part of you already feels some sort of aversion to it — i.e. doing an exercise that doesn’t feel particularly good but you believe is good for you to do.
An encouraging thing to remember is that your next decision to restart might represent the tipping point that pushes you into doing what you’re trying to do regularly — exercising, writing, learning a new skill, etc.
How long you’ve been out of the game doesn’t define you nearly as much as your choice to get back in it.
And in that sense, restarting is one of the most important skills you can choose to develop.
